CAMP FAQS

​1) WHAT ARE THE BUNK/SLEEP ARRANGEMENTS?

  • The guys cabins are grouped and the girls cabins are grouped

    • ​Guys and girls cabin areas are in separate parts of the camp

  • Youth will be bunked with others based on their age range and from our church community

  • Each cabin will have two young adult chaperones/leaders

  • There is a nightly curfew (see schedule)

2) WHAT IS THE CAMP SCHEDULE?

  • 07:30  Wake up and Devotional time

  • 08:00  Breakfast

  • 09:30  Morning Session

  • 12:00  Lunch

  • 01:00  Tribal War (group activities)

  • 03:00  Free Time

  • 05:30  Dinner

  • 06:30  Evening Session

  • 08:30  Evening Fellowship

  • 10:00  Curfew & Lights Out

3) WHAT IS THE CAMP LEADERSHIP?

  • There are four churches partnered together for camp

    • COTR, Promise Woodland, Promise Longview, Rainer Assembly​

  • Each church has a lead pastoral couple, additional adults, and young adults

  • Volunteers have been background checked and completed Cultivate

  • Our target is approximately 1 to 4, staff to student ratio

  • Bunk leaders will act as small group leaders as well

  • Pastoral and adult staff are available to support youth with emotional, physical, spiritual needs

  • Nurse volunteers will be on site

  • Security volunteers will be on site

4) WHAT IS YOUTH PARTICIPATION AT CAMP?

  • We are asking youth to be involved in all corporate activities

  • We will be patrolling cabins to ensure no youth are disengaged

  • We will be engaging with non-participating youth to help them

  • There will be daily free time with staff oversight

​

5) WHAT IS THE CAMP TECHNOLOGY POLICY?​

  • Invitation Youth has been practicing a "no distraction" culture

  • To this end, we are saying no technology devices (phones, tablets, game device, etc.) at camp

  • Youth will be able call home with their leaders phones

​

6) WHAT ARE THE FOOD OPTIONS?

  • Food is typical camp cafeteria food; there is always plenty to eat

  • Food sensitivity options will be available

  • The camp SNACK SHACK and/or coffee bar may be open (requires cash)

CAMP PACKING & WAIVERS

WAIVERS:

Each youth must have a completed COTR Annual Permission/Waiver and a Cascades Camp Waiver completed (click the links below).

 

May be submitted at camp check-in on 08/07/23 at 11:30 AM.

 


LUGGAGE:

Each youth is allowed...

  • One medium luggage item

  • One small personal backpack

  • One sleeping bag (blanket/sheets)

  • A pillow must be fit into the luggage (not separate)

  • Please label all luggage items with the students name

MISC:

  • Sleeping Bag

  • Pillow

  • Water Bottle

  • Sunglasses

  • Towel

  • Dirty Clothes Bag

  • Cash for Snack Shack

  • BIBLE

  • Notebook/Journal

  • Pens

RESTRICTED ITEMS:

  • Technology devices (phone, tablet, gaming, etc.)

  • Drugs, alcohol, vaping, tabaco

  • Weapons (knives, guns, etc.)

CLOTHING:

  • Swimsuit

    • (girls no bikini)

    • (boys no speedo)

  • Sandals

  • Sneakers (for activities)

  • Socks (multiple pairs)

  • Undies (plenty)

  • Shorts (2 pair minimum)

  • Pants (maybe 1 pair only)

  • Shirts (multiple t-shirts)

  • 1 White T-shirt (to paint)

  • Sweatshirt

  • Pajamas

THEME NIGHT CLOTHES 

(not required, but counts toward tribal war points)

  • Generations

    • ​Not decades

    • Any generation not your own

  • Disney

  • 90's / Neon

HYGIENE:

  • Sunscreen

  • Bug Spray

  • Tooth Paste
