LOVE IN ACTION
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
- Galatians 6:10 -
The Love in Action ministry was created to offer different types of assistance within Church on the Rock’s church body and impact our community by actively being the hands and feet of Jesus. Our goal is to strengthen faith, encourage others, and meet basic and vital needs. We visit homes, deliver food, offer friendship, comfort, provide financial assistance when necessary and put our faith into practical application. As a liaison group intertwined amongst all ministries within our church we are inspired by being compassionate missionaries daily, unifying the body of Christ through serving and loving our community.
If you need help we want to come alongside you to offer provisions for spiritual, financial, physical, and emotional welfare! Whether your needs are groceries, a tank of gas, prayer, help moving, or a friend being intentional, please let us know. This is the heart that fuels the Love in Action ministry. Contact contact Molli at 360.567.5441 with any needs.
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

Bi-Monthly
GREEN BAG PROJECT
When we first heard about the Green Bag Project, we knew we wanted to be a part of it. You get a green bag from us and you keep it in your pantry. Every time you go to the grocery store, you pick up one or two extra non-perishable items, and toss them in the bag when you get home. Over time your bag fills up! Then, you'll keep an eye out for the next Green Bag drop at COTR and exchange it for an empty one! We take all the bags to the North County Food Bank the same day and BOOM! Countless people in our community that need some help are given just that. We started in July 2020 and were able to donate 4,849 pounds of food in 2020!
Next Drop Off - DECEMBER 11TH

Annually
COTR GIVING TREE
Families in need of a few gifts for their kiddos sign up through our website/link. We then allow our church body to select tags with needs from our Giving Tree and purchase the gifts. We collect all the purchased gifts, send pictures to the parents so they know what they will giving their kids and we wrap them and deliver them to the families. Many families and children that join the tree are from our local schools and community.

Weekly
ST HELENS MANOR
The elderly residents of St. Helens Manor in Battle Ground have been supplementing their food shortage due to fixed income by visiting the North County food bank. LIA decided to step in and get them items they need that are harder to come by at the food bank. Many of the residents do not drive and almost all of them long for visitors. We then grocery shop, meal prep for some who need a bit of extra help and deliver their requests. This holiday season we will be putting on a Thanksgiving meal for their community in their community room.

Monthly
CHURCH ON THE STREETS
COTR Men’s Group and Love In Action have been hosting church on the streets in Vancouver. We offer a meal, a short message and hand out essential supplies. Occasionally, we are offering showers and other blessings to go along with everything else we do! Join us on the last Saturday of every month!

As Needed
BG FAMILY
RESOURCE CENTER
Every year we ask the church body to gather and donate supplies that are helpful for those in need in our community. The local Family Resource Center disperses these donations to local students, families both directly and through individual school resource rooms and counseling teams. We collect everything from food, easy grab and go snacks to hygiene products to laundry soap to clothing. Since August 2022 the resource center has served and supplied approximately 300 families or individual students with basic supplies/necessities to live/function.

As Able
BG SCHOOL LOUNGE PROJECT
Over the past few months, we have had the honor of gifting the teacher's lounges at Maple Grove & River HomeLink with furniture, coffee, a coffee machine, snacks, and even a fridge. It was touching to see how grateful and excited they were! They were shocked and clearly felt so loved. One of the principals teared up and said, "I can't believe the church cares." That is why this project is so important! The church does care and we want to show it! Partner with us so that we can bless all the schools in our area in this way!
