HOST RESOURCES & TRAINING

CHURCH @ HOME  |  HOST TRAINING VIDEO

STEP ONE:
Commit & Pray

Intentionality & Faith are the first priority...

You have likely decided to host or co-host C@H. If not, we encourage you to take a step of faith and say yes. If you sense the Lord nudging you to commit, lean into that.

Whether or not you have experience hosting and leading, this is a great opportunity to grow and serve.

Pray Over Your C@H...

Submit your C@H to the Lord in prayer. Ask for His guidance and blessing. Seek His heart. Ask Him to help you with guests, logistics, fellowship, ministry, safety, and anything else on your heart.

Let Us Know You Are Planning to Host...

If you haven't already done so,  please click the link below and let us know you are hosting C@H. Even if you don't have space for guests, we want to support you.

STEP TWO:
Learn & Prepare

Become a Student of the Experience...

If you are new to hosting or leading, we encourage you to recognize you are a student who is discovering a new skill and gift, this is awesome and can be overwhelming. Everyone starts somewhere and it becomes easier with practice.

Hopefully the video above had helpful suggestions.

Team Up; Link Arms with Others...

Team is key. Find people with different gifts to partner with you and lead out various aspects of a C@H. Roles and opportunities for people could include the following...

  • Food Organizer (perfectpotluck.com)

  • Fellowship & Fun

  • Guest List & Invites

  • Facilitator

  • Praise & Worship

  • Devotional or Bible Study

  • Prayer

  • Kids’ Activities

Intentional Content/Message...

While you don't need to be a Bible scholar or a brilliant teacher to facilitate, your group does want to have a sense of direction from the Lord for an emphasis for C@H. Try to be spirit-led as you choose what Biblically-based content you will pursue.

Occasionally, COTR may provide content for C@H hosts/leads to offer direction. Click the link below.

STEP THREE:
Execute & Engage

Invites are Key...

Get the word out to your guests sooner than later.  We recommend a phone call, face-to-face invite, or even a flyer. Create group text if helpful.

Follow Up With Team...

Touch base with anyone committed to taking the lead on any roles to see how they are coming along with.

Host the C@H...

Now it's time to gather.  Remain prayerful, asking the Spirit of God to lead and cover your time together.

Your C@H Plan...

Try to have a basic agenda for an order of activities, but hold it loosely; don't force the experience.

  • What will worship look like?

  • How will you get into the word?

  • When will you break bread?

  • Are you having communion?

  • Is there a need for a time of prayer?

  • When does fellowship and fun happen?

Set Some Boundaries and Expectations...

Invite guests to honor each other, the host home, and the time. If you are okay for people to linger, great; but if not, feel free to let guests know when the gathering is done.
