Fast Day 7: Prayer for Reformation in America

Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Amos 5:24

Reformation is making what is crooked, straight.  We desperately need reformation in our nation today. There is so much corruption and darkness being exposed in our government and nation right now. We need God to show up and intervene to save America and change her course! 

In a recent interview, Paula White, leader of the National Faith Advisory Board (NFAB) shared this principle, “Politics matter because policy matters. Policy matters because people matter.”

Political reformation is about bringing life to our communities, cities, nation and ultimately the whole world…but it starts in our own hearts. While reformation is vital in politics and government, God's design begins with us as individuals. Before praying for the nation, ask the Lord, ”What is crooked in me that I may be unaware of, that You want to make straight?” Then begin to pray for reformation in all parts of our government… in congress, our judicial system, and all government/non-government agencies.  

Some prayer points:

• Pray Amos 5:24, that justice and righteousness would roll down like waters and be an ever-flowing stream over and in America.

• Election integrity. Pray that corrupt members of congress would be removed and people who fear the Lord would be elected and put in positions of leadership and authority.

• The judicial system. Pray that corrupt judges would be removed and replaced with judges who have the mind of the Lord and will uphold His justice.

• Righteous laws. Pray that unjust laws would be reformed and replaced with just laws that reflect God’s will and ways.

Lord, we ask you to make the crooked ways straight in our nation.  We want heaven’s blueprint for America…Your heart and mind in all things…..we want what You want.  We want Your kingdom to come and Your will to be done in our cities, our state, America and the nations. Have Your way, Lord!
