Fast Day 9: Church Growth

Your prayers matter in advancing the Kingdom of God both here in Clark County & throughout the world. 

This may feel like a rather bold and unsubstantiated claim, but it is true nonetheless. We walk by faith in the Word of God, not by our limited sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) The authors of scripture describe an evil spiritual realm which has a grip on people, keeping them trapped in darkness. The fact that this realm is largely veiled to us means we often do not see the effects of our prayer, fasting, worship, and obedience. But God tells us that “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1) God has set things in order such that the Spiritual realm is powerful and requires the power of God to break through darkness, remove the veil from spiritually blind eyes, and transfer people from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of the Son He loves.

Read the Following:

1. What does the apostle John say about the authority you have in Prayer? 

   1.  1 John 5:14-15  

2. What can you pray today with confidence according to God’s will? 

   1. Psalm 2:7-8

   2. Revelation 5:9

3. What must happen in the physical and spiritual realm for someone to be saved? As you read through each verse, pray out loud that these things will happen both here and abroad for the missionaries, for the people, for the communities, for the nations represented in today’s prayer focus. 

   1. 2 Corinthians 3:14-18

   2. Colossians 1:13-17

   3. Zechariah 4:6

Specific Prayer Points for Church Growth: While we want to pray for Church growth in general. Today let’s focus in on the churches in some of the specific regions we contend for that have church building projects going on specifically because of growth. 

1. Pray for COTR as we move forward with building plans and making space for new believers in the body right here in our own city. 

2. Pray for The final stages of the church in Atalaya in the Amazon that we have sown into for the past couple of years with Amazon Outreach.  

3. Pray for the new village churches we want to see flourishing in the Loreto region of the Amazon Basin through our Peru ministry.
